Z60 branch would like to thank everyone that attended Lincoln Pride down on the waterfront for the absolutely amazing time that was had by all. We definitely all felt the love (some more than others Matt 🙂 ) and met some truly amazing people of all ages.
This years must have item at Pride was the GMB promotional rainbow landyard and as fast as we were putting them out on the stall,they were gone!!!. We had some great conversations and were more than pleased to give history lessons on unions to the youngsters who had asked what a union was and what it did.
We welcomed new members on the day who signed up to the GMB and each one was rewarded with a fantastic welcome bag which contained some wonderful items specifically for new members. This years joining bag contained a new item for 2017, of a tall heart shaped rainbow candle specially made for Z60 and Pride, by the lovely Tia of capri candles with all colours containing a beautiful fragrance. The stall was well manned throughout the day by GMB reps and members and everyone did an amazing job working hard from start to finish.
Special thanks go to Mia and Laura who were handing out campaign leaflets like trojans and helped us get the word across that discriminatory restrictions still apply against gay men who wish to donate blood. We had lots of promises from people that they would email our leaflet to their local MP to object against this.
So to Kate, Dawn L, Mat, Debbie, Nick, Laura and Mia Thank you all for your hard work and dedication we did the branch proud.
